Founder of Seeds of Tomorrow Organization
My name is Prince Bagabo. I was born in 1997 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Because of ongoing war and conflict in my home country, my family and I were forced to flee for safety. We relocated to Burundi, where I grew up in a refugee camp for nearly 20 years.
In 2018, my family and I were blessed with the opportunity to resettle in the United States as refugees. After arriving, I began pursuing my education in Ottumwa, Iowa, where I attended high school classes for one year. I then enrolled at Iowa Central Community College, where I earned my Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from 2019 to 2022.
Determined to continue my education, I went on to attend Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, where I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from 2023 to 2025.
In 2020, I founded the Seeds of Tomorrow Organization, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth and families through education, mentorship, and opportunity. Although the organization was founded in 2020, it officially began operating in 2022. Through this organization, I am committed to creating pathways for individuals who are going through struggles like those I experienced or facing different obstacles in their own journeys.
My journey from fleeing war and growing up in a refugee camp to earning a college degree in the United States has shaped my purpose in life. I believe that no matter where someone starts, they deserve an opportunity to build a better future. Through your work and this nonprofit, I am committed to empowering individuals, especially youth and families facing challenges everywhere in the world, to believe in themselves and reach their full potential. I invite you to join this mission together, we can create hope, open doors, and help others build stronger, brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
